William Strom has performed more than twenty-five operas and events with six Pittsburgh and three Syracuse arts organizations, including Syracuse Opera, Society for New Music, Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, The Microscopic Opera Company, Undercroft Opera, and Alia Musica. Some of his roles include Monsieur Grivet (Therese Raquin – Microscopic), Remendado (Carmen – Undercroft), An Officer (Ariadne on Naxos – Opera Theater), Clem/Alfred (The Little Sweep – Microscopic), and Elder Hayes (Susannah – Undercroft). William also appeared in 2013 as Dr. Grimes and Monsignor Rice in the world premiere of Todd Goodman’s Night of the Living Dead: the opera (Microscopic), roles he reprised in 2015 with the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center at the composer’s behest. He loves independent projects and is actively working as co-creator and performer on a new online opera project, Steam -or- the Specters of the Knox Mill, (SteamTheOpera.com). As a recent transplant to Syracuse, William’s first upstate New York appearance was in July 2018 with the Society for New Music’s production of Pushed Aside: Reclaiming Gage. He also joined Syracuse Opera’s chorus for Macbeth in October 2018 and will also be appearing in their production of Threepenny Opera in April 2019 in the ensemble as Bob the Saw.
